Worship a Way of Life
Worship is not about personality, temperament, personal limitations, church background, or comfort. Worship is not something we do because of what we get out of it. Our level of goosebumps or emotional response is not what worship is about. It's about Yahweh. We worship because Yahweh is worthy of worship. True worshipers do it for Him, not for themselves. He is the center.
Worship has also nothing to do with the form, style, music or lyrics. You have to learn to worship in every environment you are in. It will bring you beyond your preferences and prejudices.
Worship is the core of our Christian walk. We are made to worship Yahweh . Worship is an act that comes from an inner attitude to life. Isn't it true that when your heart is full of Him, your mouth and your life will overflow of Him?
Any worship of Yahweh that is not a true representation of your own individual selves is considered as not correct. A person should not copy how another person worship Yahweh. Our worship should be our own act of self-expression. Worship has many forms and these forms can be mixed too. Forms of worship are singing, talking, praying, dancing, bowing down, thanking, putting Yahweh in the center of your life, serving, obeying, gathering knowledge of Yahweh, testifying positive about Yahweh and defending Yahweh. Worship is a way of living. Worship Yeshua is life.
Matthew 15:8-9
‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’ ”
Our words and speech have to reflect our hearts.
We must worship with sincerity. True worship is genuine and your heart is full of what we worship. Someone whose heart and mind is constantly and primarily focused on Yahweh and Yeshua doesn’t give place for something else.
You suppose to experience true, authentic joy from deep in your heart when you worship. With this feeling you praise Yahweh. You will be so much more alive when you worship like this.
A good atmosphere contributes to the experience and directing oneself to Yahweh . But a powerful life-changing worship service is not where the quality is highest, but where Yahweh can be most present through His followers. A music team can only add structure and bring together the hearts that want to make the name of their King great. So a music team must focus on just one question, in addition to practicing: 'What does Yahweh want to say, elaborate, express through us during the service?' But without personal worship, public worship is ostentation without substance. If you can't get into the presence of Yahweh in everyday life, there is no one on your worship event who can get you there. In Psalm 34:1 David says, “I will praise the Lord every hour of the day; my mouth is always full of His praise.” So let us praise Yahweh as much as we can.
We are now going to read:
John 4: 21
“Believe me,” Yeshua said, “the time is coming when you will neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father.
Worship does not require a physical location. You don't need a building to worship. Worship is not a location or a service. We worship in the heart and the mind. We have to know the truth and live in this truth. Because if the truth isn’t in you, your worship cannot be sincere. The Father seeks worshipers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
John 4:16-26
He said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here.” The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Yeshua said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” Yeshua said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. Yahweh is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called The Messiah ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” Yeshua said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
Why did Yeshua speak about worship? Why was He not started to tell the woman that she had a bad lifestyle and that she needed to change her way of living?
Yeshua knew that when you worship in Spirit and in truth, a change will take place in your life.
A real worship is always accompanied by the Holy Spirit. When you worship the Holy Spirit makes it possible that something changes in you. But also something will change in your environment and something will change in the people who are connected with you.
More reason for us to stretch ourselves and pursuing eagerly for a life filled with sincere worship.
