My journey in faith

I am born and raised as a Roman catholic in the Netherlands. When I was between 30 and 36 years I was baptized in a Pentecostal church. In 2014 I moved to Belgium and went there also to a Pentecostal church. I was satisfied and would always stay there. But Yahweh had other plans.

I was called a Christian, read the Bible, prayed, go to church. But life wasn’t in me. I was dead without realizing it. And Yahweh wanted to change that.

I was a worship leader in that time. And every year on the same time He want me to use the subject, “walking in God’s rhythm”. I didn’t understand. I learned that we must not run for Yahweh, but walk relaxed in peace with Him. Also I learned that Yahweh is more understanding with us than we think. He is not searching for our results on the outside, He is searching for a good relationship.

The third time I was searching in the good direction. I discovered the beginning of the year in the Bible.

Exodus 12:2 and 11

“This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you.
Now you shall eat it in this manner: with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste—it is the Lord’s Passover.

Deuteronomy 16:1

“Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to the Lord your God, for in the month of Abib the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night.

Exodus 13:3‭-‬4 ‬‬

Moses said to the people, “Remember this day in which you went out from Egypt, from the house of slavery; for by a powerful hand the Lord brought you out from this place. And nothing leavened shall be eaten. On this day in the month of Abib, you are about to go forth.

The Hebrew people were rescued out of the hands of Egypt. The Hebrew were slaves in Egypt and treated bad. Yahweh rescued them. They were commanded to celebrate this every year. In the first month called Abib. The celebration is called Passover.

So for Yahweh the first month is Abib. The month that they celebrate Passover.
From this moment everything started to change in my life. I realized that the calendar we used wasn’t the calendar Yahweh gave.

After this Yahweh told me to use the subject “Why Christmas is not a biblical celebration. “
I refused. It was almost Christmas and I didn’t want to spoil there joy.

But second year at the same time Yahweh asked the same. Use the subject “Why Christmas is not a biblical celebration. “

Now I couldn’t ignore him. Yes, a lot of people in my church were offended. I wasn’t allowed to be a worship leader unless I promised to never to speak like this anymore.

I had the choice. Staying with what I learned from the tradition gave over by our ancestors or starting to believe what is written in the Bible. I choose to believe what is written in the Bible.

That’s why I celebrate the celebrations of Yahweh. I am learning to walk in the rhythm of Yahweh. I have to admit that I am still don’t know everything about these celebrations. But that will come.

In Leviticus 23 you can find the celebrations of Yahweh.

SABBATH, PASSOVER, FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, FIRST FRUITS, FEAST OF THE WEEKS (called Pentecost in the church), DAY OF ATONEMENT, THE FEAST OF BOOTHS.
