Yeshua, the Light
John 9:4-5
We must work the works of Yahweh who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work. Do the works of Yahweh while I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.”
Yeshua is saying from Himself that He is the light of the world. As long as His light is shining in the world we can do the things that Yahweh wants us to do. But there’s a day coming that His light is no longer there, then no one can do the things of Yahweh anymore. Because it’s too dark.
Yeshua is not on earth this moment, but His light is still here because you and I are His light at this moment.
Matthew 5:14
You are the light of the world.
John 8:12
Then Yeshua again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
Everyone who follows Yeshua will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life with him. To follow Yeshua means that we do everything the same as Yeshua would do. He was obeying his Father Yahweh and we suppose to do the same. When we live like this we will shine the light of Yeshua in this world. This world is living in darkness because of their sins. Because they don’t know Yeshua. But you can tell them about Yeshua. And when they start to believe Yeshua, they will also have the light of Yeshua with them and start to be a light in this world.
Matthew 5:16
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Good works are that you love your neighbors, that you love your family and friends but also that you love your enemies. Pray for them, feed them, give them a place to sleep, help them in any way that you can think of. Tell always the truth, be peaceful and nice. When you do these things, your light is shining.
John 3:19
This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
People who do things that are not good like darkness. Their actions have to stay secret. No one is allowed to know what they are doing. That’s why they hate light. Because being in the light means that everyone sees what you’re doing.
If you know that you do something wrong, you will feel guilty and ashamed. You are in darkness at that moment. It’s better to confess what you did wrong then to hide it. When you confess you are free again and can live again in joy.
Philippians 2:14-15
Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you will be blameless and pure, children of Yahweh without any fault. But know that you are living with evil people all around you, who have lost their sense of what is right. Among those people you shine like lights in a dark world.
Don’t stop shining your light because if we stop shining our light, there will be only darkness and no one will be able to do good anymore.
So let the light of Yeshua shine every day in your life.
