Your New Identity
When we become a follower of Yeshua, we have to become aware who we are. There is much misunderstanding about our new identity. Because that is what happens you get a total new identity.
We’re going to read:
2 Corinthians 6:16b, 18
“I will dwell in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people… and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters,” says Yahweh, the Lord Almighty.”
First of all you become a child of Yahweh. That means that He is going to raise you like a Father. He loves you and He disciplines you when necessary. He isn’t going to make you different. He is going to let you discover who you really are. That you are going to know how He created you. The devil stole your identity, but you will get it back. You will to get to know yourself with the help of Yahweh. And you will know that you are wanted.
In Psalm 139 we read that Yahweh knows us better then anyone else:
Psalm 139:13-16
For You created my reins, and woven me in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am awesomely wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, my soul knows it well. My bones were not hidden from You, when I was made in secret and embroidered in the lowest places of the earth. Your eyes have seen my unformed beginnings, and they were all written in Your book, the days that they were formed, when there was not one of them.
You become also a citizen of the Kingdom of Yahweh. You are no longer home at earth. Your home is with Yahweh in His Kingdom.
John 18:36
Yeshua answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”
To be a citizen of a new Kingdom means that you have to integrate. You have to learn the constitution and the Law. You have to know the culture. And become a citizen that is social active. You are part of a nation. You have brothers and sisters. Relationships are important in Yahweh’s Kingdom. Relationship with Yahweh, with Yeshua and with your brothers and sisters. You have to know the festivals in the Kingdom. We are used to the kingdom of the devil. We have to unlearn this culture. Yahweh will help you with this.
Colossians 1:13
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love
Yahweh wants to give you responsibilities. And want to skill you so that you become a strongly useful son or daughter.
1 Corinthians 3:8-9
Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are Yahweh’s fellow workers; you are Yahweh’s field, Yahweh’s building.
Because Yahweh wanted you to be born with a reason. You have a purpose that only you can fulfill. You aren’t just any other person. The strengths and talents you have were given to you for this purpose. You have the ability to impact this world in incredibly powerful ways, leaving a mark only you can leave. That is a pretty amazing thing.
We will become ambassadors for Yahweh’s Kingdom. We are going to be representatives for His Kingdom. We’re going to tell the rest on the earth about His Kingdom. How someone can become citizen. Who the King is. How the Kingdom is like. And you are going to do this on your own unique way.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
We will also be part of the body of our King Yeshua. This means that Yeshua is going to give us the right positions and is going to tell us what we will do. We will work together as a team. Because that means it if you are part of His body. Without His team, He can’t do much. We are His hands, His feet, His mouth. Yeshua is the head. He is the only one that give you instructions. It’s like a army. Together we are strong, if Yeshua is the leader.
Romans 12:4-5
For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in the Messiah, and individually members one of another.
And we are going to look more and more like Yeshua. Because He is also in us. We’ll get the same character as Him. You will become holy.
1 John 3:2-3
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when Yeshua appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
This all is not done at once, but goes in phases. Step by step. We don’t have to fear. We have to trust Yahweh and Yeshua. They will give you also someone to teach you. The Holy Spirit. You will get a new spirit and a new heart from Yahweh. How longer you will be in His Kingdom, how better it will be. Just do what Yeshua or the Holy Spirit is telling you. Then everything will be fine. And most important you aren’t alone. You will have a Father, a teacher and a lot of brothers and sisters.
