The celebration of the start of Yahweh’s Kingdom
Shavuot (Pentecost) is a celebration that commemorates the date when Yahweh gave the Law to His people at Mount Sinai over 3,000 years ago.
We as followers of Yeshua also celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on this day.
It’s important to celebrate the day that the nation of Yahweh is born. Because that’s what we’re talking about here. The start of the creation of the Kingdom of Yahweh. It started with a Constitution, a Law and a vow of the people.
We’re not in Yahweh’s Kingdom yet. But we’re out of slavery and on our way to Yahweh’s Kingdom. And we have a new hope in Yeshua, our Savior and King. So we have something to be thankful for and to be joyful about.
Yeshua died for our sins on the cross. Because He wants us not to stay in slavery in the kingdom of satan. He wants us to be in the Kingdom of His Father, Yahweh, forever. And Yeshua will be, together with Yahweh, the King of this Kingdom. That’s why He is called the Messiah.
This offer of Yeshua you need to get forgiveness from Yahweh. Your sins will be forgiven when you accept and believe that you need Yeshua‘s offer to get forgiveness.
From this moment your relationship with Yahweh is restored. You do your baptism, you take the first time the Holy Meal and after prayer you will receive the Holy Spirit. You stop sinning and become a child of Yahweh. You become a citizen of Yahweh’s Kingdom.
Let me tell you a part of the history of Yahweh’s Kingdom, our Kingdom:
Yahweh rescued His people from the Egyptians. They were slaves from the pharaoh. Moses asked the pharaoh to let the people go, but the pharaoh refused. Yahweh sent 10 plagues before His people were allowed to leave Egypt. But the pharaoh regretted his decision and followed them with his big army. Yahweh made a way through the sea. By this way Yahweh made it possible for his people to go to the other side of the sea. The Egyptians were following them even through the sea, but when Yahweh’s people reached the other side safely. Yahweh let the water of the sea coming back and the whole army of the Egyptians inclusive the pharaoh, were killed by the water of the sea.
We continue with Exodus 19:
Exodus 19:1-6
In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain. Moses went up to Yahweh, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”
In Exodus 19:8 we find the answer of Yahweh’s people:
All the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do!” And Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.
We are part of this holy nation. We are part of this Kingdom of priests. When we say yes to Yeshua we are part of this Kingdom. It’s His Kingdom.
We read about this also in Revelation 5:10
The saints in heaven are talking about Yeshua, the Lamb when they say this:
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our Yahweh; and they will reign upon the earth.”
They are talking about us, followers of Yeshua. We will reign as priests upon the earth.
In 2 Timothy 2:12 you can read again:
If we endure, we will also reign with Him (who is Him? Yeshua); If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
When we reign in Yahweh’s Kingdom, we also have to know the Law. Let us read the constitution of Yahweh’s Kingdom.
We read this in:
Exodus 20:1-17
Then Yahweh spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your Yahweh, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other Yahweh’s before Me. “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your Yahweh, am a jealous Yahweh, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your Yahweh in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain. “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your Yahweh; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your Yahweh gives you. “You shall not murder. “You shall not commit adultery. “You shall not steal.
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
Probably everyone is recognizing these words. An other name for this is the 10 commandments. There’s no kingdom without constitution and law. I don’t understand why there are people who expect Yahweh’s Kingdom to be without rules, without Law. There will be chaos in a kingdom without law. And Yahweh hates chaos. So there must be a law in Yahweh’s Kingdom.
Let start also to read a part of the history after Yeshua died on the cross and resurrected out of the grave.
We read:
Acts 2:1-4
When the day of Shavuot had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.
This very famous story is about the apostles receiving the Holy Spirit. They couldn’t tell the gospel before they received the Holy Spirit. The same counts for us. And like them we are going to spread the gospel of the Kingdom of Yahweh. And we will baptize in Yeshua's name, we will teach and miracles will follow us wherever we tell the gospel.

But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: “Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words. For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day; but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall be in the last days,’ Yahweh says, ‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams; Even on My bondslaves, both men and women, I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit And they shall prophesy. And I will grant wonders in the sky above And signs on the earth below, Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood, Before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come. And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
Who is the Lord? Yeshua is the Lord. And everyone who puts his trust in Him will be saved. I already told you that His offer is needed to be saved. And when you are saved, you are a citizen of Yahweh’s Kingdom. And you received the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us dreams, visions and prophecies. And Yahweh will do miracles in the sky and on the earth. And then Yeshuawill come back victorious. He will get rid of the chaos, put everything at order and start to reign for 1000 years. Then after a last war there will be a new earth, a new heaven and a new Jerusalem.
This is our future. This is our hope. Let’s read a little bit about Yahweh’s Kingdom too.
Revelation 21:1-2
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Yahweh, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
And we are also going to read Revelation 21:22-27:
I saw no temple in it, for the Lord Yahweh the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of Yahweh has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
I tell you people: Make sure that you are written in Yeshua’s book of life. Make sure that you become a citizen of this glorious Kingdom. And tell others about this Kingdom, so that they can also be part of it.
